Like every other girl in America...

Last night was a big night in the world of sexy lingerie fashion, the Victoria Secret Fashion show. Beautiful women walk down the runway wearing fabulous lingerie and twenty inch heels. Since they cannot cover anything up, they have bodies I would dream of having! Like every girl in America, I want to be a Victoria Secret Angel. However, I lack height (with heels) and I'm considered ancient in the world of modeling. But after watching the show, I was able to get out of bed and go to the gym before work! I had a good workout thinking maybe one day I'll look Miranda Kerr.

Miranda Kerr looking awesome after having a baby earlier this year. This bra is worth 2.5 million!

I have to say I like the whole Jay-Z and Kanye collaboration and their performance last night was great! Most of their music has uploaded on my pump up play list :)

Kanye performing Stronger before going on Jay-Z. I have to say I liked it better then Maroon 5.

Let's just say I have the motivation to go to the gym for the next while :)

Thanksgiving

Yeah in Canada they celebrated a month ago, but my family does celebrate American Thanksgiving. Actually, we've been known to celebrate both but haven't in awhile. Either way I'm still thankful for my family

My lovely friends that are near and far...

Having job
Running and my gym membership to keep me sane
Hair straighteners
Music
My health even though my immune system sucks
My iPhone
Football, hockey, basketball, and lacrosse.
Nail polish
Coffee
Overall life is good to me and some days I need to take the to reflect what makes it good.

Yoga Time (again)

We clean up nice :) (Birthday 2011)
This lovely lady (Alyssa) and I went to yoga again on Saturday at Lululemon. There are different instructors with their unique class.  This person does vinyasa which was different a style but one I've done before. I actually liked this class a lot. It moves nicely and I like how I learned new challenging poses.

This one is peacock. I failed miserably at it!

This is the crow pose. I almost fell flat on my face trying this!

There is no free yoga this week because of Thanksgiving. Also, it's a short work week and I'm stoked!

Today I did not go to the gym last night, but don't worry! I went to a yoga class at my local Lululemon and the best part? It's free! My good friend Alyssa and I used to do yoga back in day. Both of our schools offered it. I was really into it my junior year but when I started student teaching I couldn't go anymore (yeah excuses, excuses). But making Alyssa go with me made me want to go again.

The class was fun. All the tables and clothing racks were moved so we were in the middle of the store which was awesome (but bad for my no self-control spending habits). Since Alyssa and I already some yoga background we were able to keep up. The class totally killed me but worth going to again! We talked to one of the girls who worked there and she said they do some random class every Thursday and Saturday is yoga. We are thinking of making this a regular thing. Also, having a workout buddy is always a plus.

Oh, but I have been going to the gym like none other. Everyday after work I am there ready to workout. I've mostly been sticking to elliptical and weights. The elliptical has a thing for your headphones so you can watch TV. I've been watching Real Housewives :) It helps keep my mind off the pain.

Anyways, my lunch break is almost over and I better head back to work! Thank God it's Friday!

I be up in the gym just working on my fitness

I finally got my lazy self to join a gym! I'm a member at 24 Hour Fitness near my house. It's the perfect size and isn't too crowded. The machines are very nice and good quality. I loved the treadmill! This will be great for me during the winter.

My workout today was very simple. I took a quick walk around the gym and found an elliptical by a TV so I could watch the Giants @ 49ners game. This was great since my iPod died and I could easily focus on the gym instead of my pain. I did that for about thirty minutes and then went to lift some weights. I am not huge on weight lifting at all. You think two semesters of weights would make a me a body builder but no. I'm weak and don't really lift to my full potential. Runners don't need huge arms anyways. I did a few ab machines and found ones to help strengthen my back. I took it pretty easy. Afterwards I stretched out and did a few more ab exercises. After walking by the treadmill I made the quick decision to run a quick mile before leaving.

Took it easy today but I know I'll be feeling it tomorrow. I went a little hard treadmill and messed up my left knee. I think some icing should do it some good. Tomorrow I'll be taking it easy and going on the bike.

Yes it's Saturday, I know...

I used to do Friday Fives and thought about it today, so I'm going to start doing it again (but on Friday).

  1. What do you usually take to the beach? A towel, sunscreen, water, magazines, and my phone.
  2. What do you find essential for a trip to the mall? Coupons and money.
  3. What’s something you take to the ballgame? Cash.
  4. What do you take to the movies? A big purse full of candy.
  5. This one may not have broad enough a relevance, but what do you take when you go to the symphony? A book and my phone lol.
Oh, I finally got around to joining a gym! 24 Hour Fitness here I come :)

Sometimes I inspire myself...

When I posted about baking I felt inspired to cook dinner for family. However, I did not turn to Smitten Kitchen, instead I turn Giada DeLaurentiis. She is a personal favorite of mine! I love Italian food and usually turn to her when I need a good pasta dish. I perfected this recipe last year during student teaching. When I wasn't having a turkey sandwich for lunch, I would take the leftovers to school. The other teachers thought it looked good too. I thought I share it on my blog and actually take pictures this time. Just a FYI, the photos aren't that great but at least I posted some right?

Penne with sausage, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes. The link uses a different pasta and it works fine. (Here is the link from food network

Cutting up the garlic

Cooking the sausage in the sun-dried tomato oil

Wine with the super cool Wine Rabbit (if your avid wine drinker get one)

The cork!

It was so cool I had to take a picture, oh and proceeds from the wine go to help Dress for Success which helps woman get into the work place. Good wine and they have a bunch of different types.

The artichokes, tomatos, wine, broth, and garlic cooking.

My Dad took a break from football to help with the cheese.

Back to football. We watched the Packers/Chargers game and the Raiders/Broncos game.

The cheese!

The table set up. My sister's spot has become where we put our mail.

My cake from yesterday :) It's almost all gone. My mom, dad, and I has a piece for breakfast, we have no shame.

I realized why I don't do a cooking blog. Food photography isn't as easy as it looks. I probably could have posted the recipe instead of the link to show changes I made but I rarely ever make changes. You could follow my pictures better too. Oh well! Hope you all like it :)

Baking

                                          Me making pizza dough.

When I'm stressed out or completely bored, I bake. I also love baking with my friends. It's a fun way to unwind and hangout. We are huge fans of funetti cupcakes and cookies. Today was cold and rainy so I thought why not bake?

Alyssa and I got creative and decorated them once :)

I follow a cooking blog called Smitten Kitchen. This blog is written by woman named Deb who lives in New York. Her recipes are easy to follow. She has a great variety of recipes to choose from. On the rare occasion when I cook dinner for my family, I usually look at her website to pick something out. Most of it has turned out good!

Since I am a creature of habit (I had a turkey sandwich almost everyday while student teaching for lunch), there is one recipe I always turn to called blueberry boy bait. Here is the link. I did not do the topping which made it lighter (actually I forgot about it and it was already in the oven by the time I realized you do it before you put in the oven not after). This will be great for breakfast this week :)

I did not take pictures. The quality wouldn't have been as good and nature does it's job when I want a scenic shot so I'll leave you with a few of those.
